The UIC Department of Otolaryngology is proud to be
celebrating our 150th
Anniversary!
In 1858, the Illinois Charitable Eye and Ear Infirmary
opened its doors on Clark Street in Chicago. Ever
since then, the Infirmary has been the site of
innovation: From the introduction of intubation for
diphtheria in the late 1800s to the invention of the Holinger-Brubaker endoscopic camera in the mid-20th
century; and more recently the development of the
Virtual Temporal Bone and the Virtual Nose.
It has always been the commitment to providing the best
patient care and the highest level of training to
residents that is the hallmark of the Illinois Eye and
Ear Infirmary (IEEI).
The UIC Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck
Surgery will celebrate this historic anniversary with a
gala dinner on September 23, 2008 at the Cathedral Room
of the University Club of Chicago. This beautiful
venue overlooks Millennium Park and Lake Michigan.
The gala celebration coincides with the AAO-HNS annual
meeting being held in Chicago. We look forward to
seeing our colleagues from the meeting join on us on
this day of celebration.
The 150th anniversary gala celebration is open to all
who wish to attend and
register.
Come join us in our celebration at our ENT Gala event on
September 23, 2008.
